My Echo device no longer shows up in the Alexa app on my phone, is that expected?
- Yes, that is expected. The AIPEX platform leverages the 'Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality' program. When a device is associated to a property in our system, it is imported into this program. At that point unique hospitality microcode is applied to the device, giving it special capabilities. It is removed from the Amazon provisioning account that was used to set up the device, and becomes managed through the AIPEX portal. This is why it is no longer visible in the Alexa app. If you unassociate a device from a property, that device will then 'fall back' onto the Amazon provisioning account that it was set up under, and re-appear under that account when you login to the Alexa app with those credentials. However don't attempt to add smart home connections or other customizations this way, because any changes you make to the device using the Alexa app while a device is unassociated from a property will be eliminated when the device is once again re-associated to a property.
